Problem:
This issue was reported to Quality Engineering and has been fixed in Notes
6.0.5 and 6.5.4.
Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 6.0.5 / 6.5.4 MR fix list
(available at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):
Design
SPR# JCOS5NWQTE - In R5, a subscription to a database with the default view
categorized correctly returned the documents to the headline.nsf database. In
R6, the documents are not accessible in headline.nsf since only a twisty for
the category shows in headline.nsf, not the documents themselves. This
regression was introduced in 6.0.
Please see the screen shots below that depict Notes 6.x and 5.x headlines
databases. Notice in Notes 6.x that instead of seeing documents below the
database "Categorized Headlines" you see the categories. In this example you
see "aaaaaaaaaa", "bbbbbbbbbb", and "cccccccccc".
The category names are visibly overlaying the folder icon. Note that even
though the folder twisties are expanded, no documents are shown and therefore
no documents are accessible from the Headline database. In the Notes 6.x
screen shot below, you can see the document links as expected.

Notes 5.x Subscriptions
Steps To Reproduce Issue:
Create a test database with the first column of the default view categorized by
form.
Create three different forms.
Make sure the server allows headline monitoring for you (open the Server
document in the Domino Directory. Select the Security tab, and in the Server
Access section select "Allow To Use Monitors").
Make sure your user preferences Startup Options have Check Subscriptions enabled
Set check for new mail every 1-2 minutes (to make the Headlines monitoring more
frequent).
Make sure that your Location document is pointing to this server and has
headline.nsf database specified as the Subscriptions filename (Advanced tab,
Basics).
Restart the client and open your test database.
Create a subscription to this database from the Create menu.
Give the subscription a title and pick "All" from the drop-down for Retrieve
what new or modified documents.
Save and close the subscription.
Add a few new documents to the database using each of the forms so that the
categories show the twisties to expand and collapse.
Close the database and the headline.nsf.
Wait until you see the message "New subscription results from..." in the status
bar.
Open headlines.nsf.
Expand the subscription to the database.
Expand the twisty for the categories.
Result: No documents will show under the categories. If you now modify the
design so the default view of your test database is not categorized, and repeat
steps 11 - 15 you will see that the new documents correctly show in
headline.nsf. Also, if you preform the same steps on a Domino 5.x Server and
Notes 5.x Client, the documents will show as expected.
Workaround: Do not categorize the default view.
